4.2 Redoing the Photoshoot

Editing our Ideas through a Photo shoot

Empathy / Define / Test

After discussing the previous photo shoot with Sayydah, we decided these new photos didn't make sense relating to our idea. Instead of having the woman's face pulled back by an unknown persons hands we decided to re-shoot for her pulling her own face back, looking stressed and in pain etc.

Gathering Extra shots:

Prototype

We decided to take more photos to develop the category "Issue" further. This is the series of photos I took for this category.

Wk 4.2 IND Developing Style

Experimentation of Style:
Empathy / Define/ Prototype

I edited these photos to suit the brief. I was trying to figure out a style that would compliment the topic and all the different categories following it. The first photograph was edited to have strong blacks and a grey tone over all. The second photo was edited to have less contrast and have a more monotone feel.

These styles work well with our brief idea and also work together. From this we discovered our desired style.

Wk 4.2 IND PHOTOGRAPHING OUR SUBJECT

CREATING OUR IMAGERY

Ideate / Prototype

We decided to only have one model for our project to create more of a personal feel and make it feel like this is a reflection of one woman's experience. We also thought using photography had a more personal feel to it. We decided to do photography over ink illustration.

Wk 4.1 Developing Style

Developing Styles and Imagery:

Empathy / Ideate / Prototype

I started experimenting with some different styles and imagery. Sayydah and I are looking into ink and water colour styles so I tried to stick with this atheistic.

Creating these concepts helped us figure out what styles do work and what styles don't.

This concept looks more successful when in colour over black and white because the contrast is low and doesn't create much impact.
